Cambridge Lifespan Asperger Syndrome Service (CLASS)

We regret that due to the length of the waiting list, the CLASS Clinic is unable to accept any new referrals until further notice.  Please check this website for further updates, and in the meantime contact the National Autistic Society free telephone helpline for information about other UK clinics.

Clinic secretary:
  • Carol Farmer
This is a clinical service for adults with Asperger Syndrome. Currently there are very few clinics in the UK specializing in the regrettably very late diagnosis of adults with AS. The clinic primarily offers a diagnostic opinion. A GP/Health Professional referral is required. Currently, owing to the nature of the assessment tools available for adults suspected of having AS, clinic policy is that we are only able to see referred individuals who have an informant, preferably someone who has known him/her since childhood. However, should this situation change and the policy be amended, we may possibly be able to see you at a future date.

Patients are seen by one of four consultant psychologists or consultant psychiatrists:
  • Professor Simon Baron-Cohen
  • Dr. Janine Robinson
  • Dr. Asif Zia
  • Dr. Stefan Gleeson
The CLASS clinic accepts referrals of patients from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Region, and there is no charge for assessments. Patients who live in other parts of the UK are advised to contact the National Autistic Society to locate similar clinics in their area.
