CLINICS
Clinical Services
The Autism Research Centre (ARC) does not provide clinical services since it exists solely to undertake scientific research.
If you are seeking help please contact your GP/family physician or your local or national autism association. In the UK this is the National Autistic Society.
The ARC works closely with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust who run the following clinic for adults in this region seeking a diagnosis of high functioning autism or Asperger Syndrome:
Cambridge Lifespan Asperger Syndrome Service (CLASS)
This is a clinical service for adults with Asperger Syndrome.
Currently there are very few clinics in the UK specializing in the regrettably very late diagnosis of adults with AS. The clinic primarily offers a diagnostic opinion. A GP/Health Professional referral is required.
Patients are seen by one of several consultant psychologists or consultant psychiatrists:
- Professor Simon Baron-Cohen
- Dr. Janine Robinson
- Dr. Stefan Gleeson
The CLASS clinic accepts referrals of patients from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Region, and there is no charge for assessments. Patients who live in other parts of the UK are advised to contact the National Autistic Society to locate similar clinics in their area.
